In collaboration with QUI tequila, Chef Nobu presents NobuTequila. This is the one-of-a-kind tequila "Nobu Rare Reserve". Tequila is made using a blend of harvested agave. Aged in traditional American whiskey barrels and then in steel tanks, the taste is characterized by notes of sweet oak, toasted almonds and maple, with hints of woody, tobacco, caramel and vanilla. This NobuTequila is available at NobuRestaurants in the United States and will be sold exclusively by Matsuhisa Japan . This piece boldly showcases the dynamic red of Arita porcelain, with a soft, rounded form that expresses Japanese warmth. In Japan, sushi is traditionally served in lacquer tubs with black exteriors and red interiors. As lacquer tubs are uncommon overseas, sushi came to be served on plates, giving rise to the NOBU style. Encountering Arita red made it possible to revisit the idea of serving sushi on red vessels—resulting in a collaboration between Arita red and the NOBU style.
